DEVASYA: RUHANI

No matter where we live in this vast country and what faith we belong to, if there’s one festival that connects us together, it’s Diwali.

Mud art from Rajasthan. Terracotta earthen lamps (diyas) from barren deserts. Marigolds from central India. Lanterns in the sky or ‘kandeels’ from Odisha. Oil baths for cleansing from down south. All these assortments exist with one aim — to mark the festivities of Diwali, each in its own vibrant glory.

Juxtaposition of elements intrinsic to Diwali and how they can be placed as props for an editorial look and feel. The idea is to colour coordinate props with garments - either by means of colour-blocking, highlighting using accents or playing with monotones.
